21-member Punjab cabinet takes oath, LAHORE: Prime Minister Pervez Elahi’s 21-member cabinet was sworn in at the governor’s house on Saturday.
The Governor of Punjab, Muhammad Balig-ul-Rehman, swore in the newly-inducted members.
In a statement, Baleegh-ur-Rehman swore following rumors that the PML-N governor could not swear to the PTI minister to uphold democratic traditions and fulfill his constitutional and legal obligations.
PTI’s Omar Sarfaraz Cheema has refused to take an oath from PML-N ministers, causing a political crisis in the country’s political heartland.
CM Elahi and other dignitaries also attended today’s dedication ceremony.
Elahi congratulated the newly appointed ministers and urged them to carry out their duties efficiently.
“We want our state ministers to serve their people and work day and night to meet the expectations of the people of Punjab.” Welfare of the Poor. Elahi said they would do everything possible to bring relief to the common people.
