KARACHI: The promising relationship between coach Dmitry Tursunov and athlete Emma Raducanu will come to an end because the Russian has chosen to seek other options.
Tursunov left as the team’s fourth coach to leave in the past 15 months after Nigel Sears, Andrew Richardson, and Torben Beltz.
Since beginning her work with Tursunov following Wimbledon, Raducanu has won eight of her fifteen matches, including making it to the semifinals in Seoul last month.
The top-ranked British player is still recovering from a wrist injury, but he or she still hopes to play for Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Glasgow in November.
The next few months will be devoted to the training that should reduce her risk of injuries the following year.
And with that in mind, Raducanu will be working with Andy Murray’s physical trainer Jez Green. Green was essential in Raducanu’s physical development.
