Imran Khan gives sarcastic reply on birthday wishes

KARACHI: 1992 World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan turned 70 today and people wished their cricket hero on social media. 

During an event in Gujrat, Khan, also a former Pakistan Prime Minister, received birthday wishes when he went to the rostrum. 

“Khan Sahab, Happy Birthday,” people presented in the hall shouted. “Usually, when a man turns 70, people don’t remind him about his birthday,” the former captain replied. 

Social media was filled with birthday wishes for Khan who rose to fame in 90s’ due to his cricket career. 

Khan represented Pakistan in 88 Tests and 175 ODIs from 1971 to 1992. He is the only 50-overs World-Cup-winning Pakistani captain. 

After retiring from cricket, Khan started commentary and later on entered into politics. He formed his own political named Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). After years of struggle, PTI won general elections in 2018 and made federal government.
