Former prime minister Imran Khan

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan has prioritized ending the lawsuits against the federal government over treating victims of rain-related floods. He said that the people of the country should not be at the mercy of this. They are an “incompetent group” and will visit the floodplain themselves.

A meeting of the PTI policy committee was held under the chairmanship of the former prime minister, where the current political situation was also discussed, sources said.

The participants confirmed the flood situation in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces and explained to Imran about the flood situation in Sindh province.

PTI leader Ali Zaidi says that “The Sindh government is leaving people powerless” .

After Karachi, “the achievements of the Sindh government are fully reflected in the rest of the state”.

The PTI chairman promised that the PTI would not abandon the flood victims and he ordered the Punjab and K-P governments to immediately provide assistance to the victims.

“PTI cannot be at the mercy of this incompetent group because no one wants to pay for Shebaz Sharif.”

The meeting also discussed PTI’s public relations campaign and Imran’s visit to Sindh. The source added that Imran decided to go directly to the flood-affected areas and will visit the affected areas in Punjab and K-P starting today (Friday).

PTI senior he leader Fawad Chaudhry said the Sindh government’s efforts to help those affected by the floods had “failed”. “The (Pakistani) Bharatiya Janata Party has failed miserably. It has sunk the state economically and politically.”

830 People Died

Addressing media representatives at the Bani Gala, he said state governments must properly discharge their responsibilities.

‘The focus is on arresting political rivals, including Haleem Adil Sheikh, while people are devastated by floods.’

“Imran Khan will visit the flood-affected areas on Friday. With relief operations initially in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur districts,” Fawad said.

He said the country has lost credibility internationally due to terrorism charges against Imran Khan. Fawad said that “The judiciary is affected by such cases , urging the chief justice of Pakistan’s Supreme Court to beware of this torture.

Fawad said PTI leader Shahbaz Gill and journalist Jameel Farooqui were stripped and tortured.

“No one is taking seriously the Islamabad Chief Justice’s order,” Fawad said. Adding that the Pakistani judiciary should not be seen as a “partner in torture.”

He vowed to bring back the one who tortured Farukie and Gil. “We have sent a clear message to the state government: Our only motto is to serve the people.”
