Islamabad: Floods as a test of Allah, PTI chief and former Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Sunday that a telethon will be held on Monday (today) to raise funds for the victims nationally and internationally. In this regard, Imran chaired his meeting at Banigala.
“Pakistan is being challenged by Allah in the form of floods, so many Pakistanis are affected by this situation,” he said.
Imran said he will host a telethon at 9:30 pm to raise funds from the state and foreigners for the flood victims. He wanted all Pakistanis to participate in the telethon and contribute their full efforts to this noble cause.

He explained that a committee headed by Sania Nishtar will review all funding issues and representatives from all states will attend the committee. I will be waiting for all my Pakistanis at the telethon on Monday night,” he said.
Previously, Imran chaired a meeting attended by Dr. Chaudhry Fawad Hussein, Central Senior Vice President. Senators Sania Nishtar, Senators Saifra Khan Niazi, Senators Shivli Faraz and Senators Iftikar Durrani were present.
At the meeting, there was a specific discussion about telethon plans and ways to help victims. They also discussed the outline of the proposed historic telethon and the participation of numerous donors.
PTI will use the funds raised to assist flood victims across Pakistan. PTI’s Imran Tigers will participate in the relief effort as per the party leader’s special instructions.
His Fawad and other party members’ statements that the PTI will continue to hold public meetings despite the flooding have sparked discussion and criticism in social media circles.
Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif has urged people to put politics aside for the time being and focus on flood relief and relief efforts. Fawad had accused “thieves” of trying to extend their control under the proposal.
Separately, PTI Central Secretary Asad Umar chaired his PTI Sindh leaders meeting. The meeting was attended by Ali Zaidi, President of PTI Sindh, along with Imran Ismail and Liaquat Jatoi. The conference was also attended by senior leaders Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Ghaus Ali Shah, Tahir Shah, Mubeen Jatoi and others.
The meeting discussed in detail the political situation and flood devastation in Sindh. At the meeting, a flood victims relief operation plan was developed in light of the instructions of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
In Sindh all his PTI organizations have been given special instructions to help flood victims. The conference also developed strategies to help those stranded in the floods.
